Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyard has it all!

Situated just outside Charlottesville VA, in North Garden, Virginia, along the Monticello Wine Trail it has both wine and the food scene in full force. The farm was opened to the public by its owners in 2011 with a narrow focus on sustainable agriculture. With that focus, they are able to grow some of the region’s best grapes, and host some pretty notable events. Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards has gone on to be an all-season venue that offers a range of activities! This of course includes wine tours and tastings, but has expanded to include cooking school, wine school, vintner’s table, and events such as weddings.

Farm and Food

While their wines are well known in the area their farm is also known for its elevated cuisine, in which they source locally fresh & seasonal selections from vineyards and local farms. Their culinary team highlights the freshest of ingredients from local farms, including their own Chef's Garden, with seasonal menus that showcase their tasty wines. The farm's airy Tasting Room pairs their award-winning wines with some of the most elevated cuisine you’ll find in Charlottesville. Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is an unique gem among the growing number of wineries along Virginia’s Monticello Wine Trail, because they offer outstanding wines, in addition to a culinary journey.

Venue and Inn

Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is a flexible, full-service venue that can host just about anything you can imagine. The venue is designed to host the finest events, from weddings to graduations, to board meetings and business dinners. In 2022, the owners of Pippin Hill bought the Crossroads Inn. This Inn has been seeing travelers since it was built in 1820 and is listed on the National Historic Register as a designated Virginia Historic Landmark. Each room is unique and is a nod to the local region as well as Charleston, South Carolina.

The vineyard is usually open from Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00am to 5:00pm EST. Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is a perfect place to spend a day with friends and family (human or with paws), enjoying the beautiful scenery. The vineyard offers a variety of wines, including red, white, and some beautiful rosé wines. Aged in oak barrels, their wines are estate grown.  

Sustainability

Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is committed to sustainable viticulture practices like many of their Charlottesville winery neighbors. They use cover crops to reduce soil erosion and improve soil health, while also using natural pest management techniques which to them means better quality wines. They also employ a composting program, which helps to reduce waste from their wines and food and improve soil fertility.
