They’ve managed to cultivate 100% Virginia-grown grapes across their 32 acres of estate vineyards for over 10 years. Those 32 acres include different vineyards—Blenheim, Claim, Deer Ridge, and Sea-view—each possess a unique terroir that helps them produce some great tasting wines. The varying soils and micro-climates contribute to the character of their wines, reflecting the essence of their place of origin as well as their meticulous nature.
Guided Wine Tours and Wine Tasting
When you step on their tasting room floor, you’re immediately put at ease by an ambiance designed by none other than Dave Matthews and William Johnson themselves. Wine enthusiasts or the casual connoisseur, can choose to go on guided tours, learning about the wine-making process and the stories behind each vintage or you can hang out in the tasting room. Please note that while leased dogs are allowed on the grounds, they may not be allowed in the tasting room. The tasting room welcomes visitors from Thursday to Monday. However, if you plan to visit on a Saturday, it might be a good idea to make reservations in advance for a delightful and satisfying tasting experience.
